Born out a desire to strip the limitations from traditional genres while keeping true to the lineage, the Soul Mission takes its truth from blues, jazz, R&B and urban, and combines it with the power of live horns to generate a whole new kick-ass sound.

Some of the best jazz and blues players in Canada make this debut original album a monster. Players like David Rodenburg on sax, guitar and vocals, John Lee on B3 and keyboards, Shawn Kellerman on guitar, Jim Boudreau on drums and Ray Podhornik on trumpet.

Two of the earliest, and most revolutionary forms of popular music, ragtime and boogie woogie brought together the syncopation, rhythm, scales and pain of the music of the American south with marching and band music to create a sound that took the world by storm.

Ross Maclachlan knows that history and from it, has created his debut RealShinyRecords album. Combining six of his own compositions with classic rags and boogies, this album brings together the beauty and technical mastery of ragtime with the raw power of boogie to create a fantastic new listening experience.
